Metropolitan supports the people of the community by encouraging students of the National University of Lesotho to perform well. This is achieved by Metropolitan Lesotho sponsoring an award to the best performing student in a selected faculty every year.

The National University of Lesotho holds an annual graduation ceremony to confer and award qualifications to all students who passed their final academic examinations. On the 27th September Metropolitan Lesotho awarded Bokang Emmanuel Jobo with a certificate and a cheque amounting to M1 5000 for the best student in Biotechnology. In 2007 Metropolitan Lesotho awarded Mabope Lineo with a certificate and a cheque for best performance in B.sc. Agric (Economics).
